Welcome to Teachworth Winery
For over 20 years we have been growing Cabernet Sauvignon from our two quaint hillside vineyards which are nestled in the ravines of Diamond Mountain District in the Napa Valley just south of Calistoga. Our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are organically grown on an undulating two-acre vineyard lying between 700 and 850 feet in elevation on Quail Mountain, an adjacent foothill of Diamond Mountain. Our varying and distinctively different soil and sun conditions allow us to produce a very unique – 100% estate grown – wine from our boutique estate. Manzanita Hill, the lower portion, contains more vines and gets intense afternoon sun on its chalky slopes while Rattlesnake Ridge, the terraced upper portion, has deeper soils and shifted exposure. The combination of the two gives our finished wine a complexity not normally seen from such a small vineyard. Our estate wine is aged for ~22 months in new French Oak barrels, then hand-bottled at the winery and aged an additional year in the bottle before release.
